Donatsch's 2016 Pinot Gris "Föhnbeerenauslese" combines finesse with intensity and power. Clear, bright and spicy on the toasty and yeasty nose, this is a fiery, sweet and elegant, even playful sweet wine with honey and white nougat notes, tension and a certain salinity. The 2016 is still extremely young but indicates huge aging potential. Tasted in January 2020. Total production: 600 375-milliliter bottles. It was just released.

The 2014 Pinot Gris Föhnbeerenauslese is super clear, fine and mineral on the nose. Made from shriveled berries dried by the sun, this is a concentrated, piquant and refreshing sweet wine with very fine tannins and good grip and tension. This is a tight, fresh, well-structured, salty, long and aromatic sweet wine that should be great with foie gras. Tasted November 2018.
